Discover the spectacular dolphinarium at the Aquópolis Costa Daurada, the only installation of its type in the whole of Tarragona.

Get to know our dolphins and sea lions up close. Learn about their anatomy, how they live, enjoy their spectacular jumps, observe how they react underwater thanks to the glass screen which surrounds the dolphinarium, and above all BE EXCITED...

The tremendous complex that is the Dolphinarium of the AQUOPOLIS COSTA DAURADA consists of extensive stands to enable clear viewing of the dolphin and sea lion exhibitions and six pools, two for training, one for breeding, one for veterinarian treatments, a special one for the young sea lions of which we have species originating in the faraway lands of Chilean Patagonia and Argentina and the original Californian species, and lastly the exhibition pool. This last, the largest of all, is a spectacular kidney-shaped pool of salt water, whose transparent front panels enable visitors to see up close and under the water, barely a few centimeters away, the intelligent dolphins of the Bottlenose species, originally from the warm waters of the Caribbean.

Swimming with sea lions

As soon as the water park opens, Aquópolis starts up the swimming with sea lions programme. Yes, you did read it correctly, swimming with sea lions from California and Patagonia. Only then will you be able to feel as if you were in the Ocean, as well as getting to know them and seeing how these impressive marine mammals handle themselves.

The department of Marine Mammals of Aquópolis, thanks to the inestimable support which comes from being part of United Parks, has prepared a full programme of interaction which will ensure you learn and have fun with these intelligent animals.

This programme is carried out in a specially designed pool and is divided into two parts: the first more didactic part where you will learn all about the anatomy of the sea lion and its special features, thereafter you wont be mistaking them for seals, and the second part in which you will be able to practice those spectacular synchronization exercises with them.

Don¿t think about it any longer, call and reserve your place, and enjoy an unforgettable experience. Places are limited and remember that to take part in this activity you must be able to stand in a pool of 1,20 metres depth.

Schools

Aquópolis has designed an interesting educational programme within which you get to know our marine mammals and we try to teach the students about the importance of conservation for the future of this species and for all marine fauna.

Aquópolis provides a great alternative as an educational excursion for all schools. There is the possibility of visiting the dolphinarium throughout the whole year, with prior reservation, or combine it with the water park during the seasonal period (see park and exhibition timetables).
